History
Years ago Lee Sanders, the founder of Aero Design Labs began to question why most of the aircraft in service looked the same as the airplanes of the 1960s and the industry had not made many dramatic changes in the airframe design over the last several decades. When you compare the aerodynamic design changes in automotive and other industries, it is obvious that airliner design has not seen significant changes. Part of the reason for the limited changes in aircraft design is because of the incredible investment required to develop new airframes. The engineers of the 1950s and 1960s had to use the only tools that were available at that time such as slide rule calculators and drafting tables with pencils for aircraft design.
